First-timer’s Guide to ELT

Preparing for your treatment
  • From a few days before the session, drink plenty of fluids to ensure your body is well hydrated.
  • On the day of treatment, eat lightly. Consider having a detox diet a few days in advance.
  • Dress lightly and comfortably.
What is the session like?
  • Contact ranges from very light to moderate pressure on the skin. It is overall gentle and should never be painful or uncomfortable.
  • Depending on your issue, your therapist will concentrate on key areas of your lymphatic system like the neck, armpits, abdomen, hips. Additionally, organs like the liver and kidneys will be addressed depending on your condition.
  • Sensations experienced include tingling, coolness in fingers and toes and digestive noise, increased warmth from increased circulation. This is an indication that your lymph fluids are moving.

What would I feel after the session?

Here are some quick positive responses that may be experienced shortly after your session:

  • The body may feel clean, light, and pure
  • The mind may be clear, sharp and expanded
  • Deeper and more restful sleep. Maybe wanted a nap in the day
  • Reductions in swelling and headaches
  • Some joints may spontaneously “adjust” themselves as the reduction in fluid allows for better alignment

Here are a FEW of the more common healing responses that may be experienced shortly after your session:

  • Sometimes you may briefly feel sluggishness, nausea, muscle aches, pain and fatigue. These symptoms do not last and are a sign of healing
  • Temporary increase in urination and bowel movements possibly more odorous
  • Temporary change in your body odour. Increased sweat
  • Thirst
  • Sinus and Ear Drainage

These are signs that your body is releasing toxins and you are recovering.

Drink water and eat light and healthy food. Don’t worry, detoxing is natural and doesn’t last too long.
